Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate site log of the terms entered in those search fields.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email message when needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive routine technical information when a visitor loads a page:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Island County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Island County Sheriff's Office, county courts, Washington State Patrol, and Washington Sex Offender Public Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to information entered in a partner tool. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Island County offices, Washington agencies, courts, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.
